Choco Coffee Smoothie

I love the aroma of coffee but black coffee doesn’t convince me and beaten coffee scares me to sugar. I love chocolate, the dark chocolate to be more specific, but to me, the bitterly ones doesn’t complement the fuller glazing smell of it and the sweet ones are just very sweet for my tongue. then comes, oats; porridge isn’t something I could fancy in my life.. So, I did what I could do best.

I brought my favourite flavours, and not so favourite but good to the skin, heart and guts ingredients together. And I got my anytime, lazy-lump, sumptuous, lick-till-the-last-bit-exist Choco-Coffee-Smoothie.

I went through a lot of smoothie recipes on the internet, and tried a lot, and like many of them; but nothing was coming to a satisfactory level, finally, I combined some of my preferred food items with two of my most craved magical elements; and I came up with my Own version of Smoothie.

Let me help you with bit by bit of making this easy-peasy drink, I’m sure you gonna love it (provided you are a chocolate lover and you know the charisma of blending chocolate & Coffee together).

Starting with the Ingredient: (for 1 cup)

  • Milk about- 100 ml (chilled/ moderately chilled/ normal room temperature)
  • Banana – 1
  • Dates- 1 or 2
  • Oats- 2-3 table spoons (depending on the thickness you prefer)
  • Unsweetened Cocoa powder- 3/4 a teaspoon,if you don’t want it bitter, then may be 1/2 teaspoon
  • Coffee – 3/4 a teaspoon,if you don’t want it bitter, then may be 1/2 teaspoon
  • Dry roasted Peanuts- depending upon your preference and remove the shells
  • And your mixer grinder

Process:

Lets start with Banana and dates: please make sure the banana is well ripe which brings the sweetness in the smoothie and as I prefer my smoothie little sweet and bitter, I use one date but you may add more as per your taste. Grinding dates can be little tricky, if you have dried dates, then you soak it in water for sometime (30 minutes should be enough). Even the normal dates we eat, may give us little trouble to grind them completely, so the same trick, soak it in water for some time. At first add the banana & dates (if you feel, you may add honey); then 1/4 of the milk to the grinder and blend them till the banana is finely pasted with the milk, if required, stir once in between.

On which add the oats, coco powder, coffee & 3/4 of the milk and blend them really well. Your thick, brown, aromatic smoothie is ready. Pour them into your favourite cup or glass.

*** If you want more flavour, you may add half teaspoon of vanilla essence.

Now the peanuts, I prefer whole nuts, so I just dump my peanuts on the cup and that’s it, but you may crush the peanuts and garnish it on top or if you want you may add cashew, walnut or almond on it.. leaving this to your preference, but do add some nuts, and then drink it.

And you have it, no oven cooking, No chopping, but a lazy day wholesome Smoothie..
