Tell me.. Tell me.. you are enjoying Bhitarkanika and you can’t wait to go there? I want to go back there again.. Especially, I want to stay at the same place I stayed at this time.. it was like nature has come to you, to hold you back right there, to make you stay here.. which also brings me to the continuation of the last post (or I was just building up some intro to the post!!).. which is.. WHERE TO STAY IN BHITARKANIKA?

Bhitarkanika is still upcoming but gaining popularity in the country apart from the local Odisha people. There are quite a few options to stay at, I will give you all the names I know and I will also talk about the property I stayed at. Saying this, let me make it very clear that this is NOT a sponsored post, I am doing it because I had to do it.. I loved that place, I somehow got emotionally attached to the place and the property I stayed at. I think I was lucky to witness the beauty in the roughness of nature here and maybe that changed my perception of this place or maybe I got to experience ‘greenery’ in a different way.

SO apart from where I stayed, these are some of the properties you can consider:
a) Jungle Avengers: right next to Khola Gate, just a minute’s walking distance. It’s a resort, so of course it is spread across a spread-out land.
b) Aranya Nibas & Bhitarkanika Mangrove Homestay: very close to Dangmala gate. Both properties are right opposite to each other.
Both the properties are in Dangamala village, in the mid of local houses, if you wish to stay within the local community, these two are good options.
c) Estuarine Village Resort: this place is within a kilometre of the resort I stayed at. this is within the village, but there’s quietude, there’s nature, the river on the other side of the road. So quite a good option.
d) Bhitarkanika Resort Dangmala: inside Bhitarkanika National Park there are accommodations available. Now there are a few ifs and buts. Once you enter the national park, though the locality is right outside the gate, inside the gate one is barred out of the world. SO if you want to encounter eerie (in a good sense) wildlife, quiet jungle evenings, then staying inside the park is quite good. There are different kinds of rooms available spread across the jungle area. But.. what my problem was, that the properties are concrete buildings, that eco-friendly feeling is somehow missing. Or maybe I felt that because it was still off-season and there was no one staying. During season time for wildlife lovers this should be a good option.
e) Sand Pebbles: little on a high end, but this is quite a well-known option for stay at Bhitarkanika.

f) BHITARKANIKA ECO RESORTS:
Now coming to the one I stayed at. it’s a simple humble place. For now, they have 6-7 rooms, 3 tents (which should go up to 2 more). This is right in the mid of nature. Right-left- front-back you have fresh, spread-out green everywhere. There’s the river on the other side of the road. There are a few farmers’ houses nearby. On one side you can see the sunrise, on the other there will be sunset. I couldn’t witness either due to the weather. But to be honest with you I never loved pouring monsoon as much as I was in awe on the first evening here. The veranda was my place. I would read sitting there with a cup of my favourite adrak wali chai (ginger tea).
The staff are very attentive, I stayed in this property for 3 nights, in those 2 nights I was the only guest present. A solo lady traveller alone in one property but there was no worry at all for me. The staff were very caring, they used to serve my food on time, would make things as per my choice and taste, the manager Mr. Pabitra Devata has been so kind, every evening he would come, sit with me and have a small chat, he would always make sure of my comfort. He even volunteered to be my co-passenger to Kalibhanja Diha. He is a great person to plan your tour, he is highly enthusiastic to promote more of the region. You can book this place directly online, with your travel agent or you may call him directly at: +91 7008955210
The place also manages small groups of up to 20-30. During the season time, they arrange bonfires and activities and surely they will arrange your local tour.
That’s your option to stay at Bhitarkanika. Hope this gives you a little more boost to plan for Bhitarkanika. Next will be Bhubaneshwar.. and yes I will give a hell lot of options in this city and you can stay for quite a few days. For that, you have to wait for the next post.. till then take care.. Love Travel and do travel..
