About Me…

Have you ever Travelled alone? And how about travelling with a fast-shrinking pocket???

Hey Happy Faces..

I am the ‘Turtle Got Wings’ aka Payel, a Travel Blogger by chance, an ‘Healthy’ (this is very important) Food blogger out of circumstances and a Debut Author out of some veiling mist!!! And I just love talking about my Journeys…

Travelling gives me the satisfaction & quietude, which my mind hunts around on a quarterly basis, in this tech bound, full-time 10 to 6 job life. No, I still haven’t been able to leave my job to see the world.. That’s still a dream. But then, I love doing what I do (this note is necessary: in case my Boss is reading it!!).

So, the thought behind opening this website is.. in our tech-driven life, we all press a lot of keys of our laptops or touch-pads for research, before finalizing our travel plan, and in this process, many times, at least I can talk for myself, I, personally haven’t been able to find many minute information which I look for before going to a new place, and what’s more, my palm size pocket is always getting smaller to tinier, especially if it’s a solo vacation I am planning (though that’s the best part actually, travelling all alone.. Trust Me!!). Hence people like me, who are always anxious for their piggy bank to overflow with managed-by-compromising-elsewhere savings may get some help with my capsule sized travel experiences…

For me travel on a tight Budget is a fun challenge– And I love to travel on a budget… I also enjoy travelling alone.. which gives me, first of all, the “Me time” and of course it gives me the chance to fraternize with the local culture, people and food (quite obvious!) just the way I want it.. and this is what intensifies my gusta for travel .. Come.. Be a part of my dreams, they aren’t out of the world but still, they may tickle you a bit!!

  • Hii Payel,
While searching for perfect itinerary for my maiden North Bengal tour with wife & 4 years old kid (Been to Darj before with wife), stumbled upon this informative site.

While trekking to Sandakhpu in Oct 2023, I came across many beautiful villages like; Sepi, Samanden, Molley, Sabargram, Sandakhpu and Gurdum.

So, I’m planning to visit similar type of villages with my wife and son to show them the Himalayan Beauty.

I know names of some places like Lamahatta, Lepchajagat, Sittong, Tinchuley and many more. I’m planning a road trip by my Tata Nexon from Patna, Bihar for 7-8 days.

So, if I plan for NJP>Tinchuley (1N)>Kolakham (1N)>Rishyap (1N)>Darj (2N) would it be the perfect itinerary?

Or, should I plan for NJP>Darj>Tinchuley>Chatakpur>NJP

Or, as I’m not aware of the terrain, keeping in the mind that my kid won’t prefer lenghty road trips, some other itinerary would be the best, .

      • Hii Patel,
Thanks a ton for your prompt reply. I have finalised my itinerary as follows:
        D1: NJP to Lepchajagat
        D2: Lepchajagat Sightseeing
        D3: Lepchajagat to Chatakpur
        D4: Chatakpur sightseeing
        D5: Chatakpur to Darjeeling
        D6: Darjeeling sightseeing
D7: Day trip to Lamahatta, Tinchuley and Takdah
D8: Depart for NJP. Enroute visit Pashupati Market, Simana and Mirik.
Is this doable?? I’m yet to do bookings and luckily rooms everywhere are still
        Available.

        Thank u

      • can i give my honest opinion.. Lepchajagat is not a place for 2-3 nights.. my family nor i liked the place, though we styed for a night. u can easily do this place from Darjeeling, its not even an hour’s journye, mirik, you may go for a day excursion along with lepchajagt from darjeeling. rather consider staying at tinchuley or lamahat.. they are beautiful. and when in darjeeling or any other place in north bengal.. slow down a bit.. get into the essence of the place. i am giving my personal opinion to you.. you are your ultimate decision maker.. have a great trip.. do let me know how it goes..
