Uuuffff.. after more than a good long year.. and here I am, back to posting.. not that I haven’t travelled all these times.. I did.. with family, with extended family, office trip.. back to back, quite a few of them.. but my most favourite solo-travel.. well, it took me some time.. there have been quite a few reasons behind it.. but whatever it has been.. it’s been worth the wait.. I am giving you spoilers, but don’t mind them, please.. this short Solo trip to Japan was magical for me and it was way.. way too perfect.. nothing, trust me, not a single thing went wrong.. I wonder how!! But I guess it’s Japan, that’s why nothing could go wrong.. & I promise, I will share every minute detail of the trip with you, nothing will be missed.. I truly promise. But before that, did anyone miss me in all this while!! I better not expect an answer for it.. Let’s rather beginnnn…

My very first trip right after landing in Tokyo was NOT to the Harry Potter studio, but that was one of the reasons I had chosen this place. At the beginning of the year, I got to know that Harry Potter Studio has opened in Tokyo and I always wanted to visit Kasukabe (if you watch Sinchan, you know exactly what I am talking about) and that’s it.. two of the most favourite attractions in one country, and guess what there’s Disneyland in Tokyo.. what more could I have ask??

All I had to do was sort my finances, which was quite close, only a few more months wait would have taken me to my target.. and that’s it.. planned the trip for 7 months and landed there for just 7 days.. yaaa irony.. but I am still so so so happy to do this trip..

Starting by thanking my almighty Lord Shiva, who has been with me throughout.. let’s start..

You see this banner everywhere, once outside Toshmaen station

To any Harry Potter fan, I don’t think any introduction is necessary to explain what Harry Potter studio is, why to go there, and whatever.. and if you are not a Harry Potter fan, this post is not for you.. you can come back when I publish my next blog post. For now, let the Potter fans talk here. Thank you. Bye.

So my dear Potterheads.. ignore the nomags, must have been something wrong with my protection charm, I will work on that in future.. but for now.. we are talking The Wraner Bros. The making of Harry Potter.. if you are jealous of me.. I completely got you Bro. It has been a dream.. a dream finally came true.. partially though.. I still need to visit the one in London and a few other cities. One just cannot be enough.. tell me you agree with me!!

Going there: So, reaching the Harry Potter studio is very easy. I will give you all the connection points from Shinjuku station, as Shinjuku was my main connection point to the rest of the places. You have to go to a station called Toshmaen. From Yoyogi/Shinjuku you get a direct train to Toshmaen, and it’s a 2-minute walk from the station, and you have it (Google map is your ultimate friend in Japan.. it never lies.. trust me). Your dream place, your ultimate moment of life, is just there.. Oh how emotional I am becoming.. only if you could see my tears..

Entrance: There is NO ticket counter available there.. you have to pre-book your ticket and slot. You can book it on the website of warner bros harry potter Tokyo or on Klook, where you get it at a discounted price.

Timings and duration: the place is open from 9am to 9 or 10 pm. You need to book your slot. The earlier you go, the more time you spend here. You need at least a good 4-5 hours here; you can spend more than that if you wish, no one is kicking you out.

Stay: it’s a day excursion place, no stay option inside the studio.

The tour:

I won’t be a spoiler to give all the nitty-gritty of the tour.. I will give you a little idea as to what you can expect. The best part of the tour is, it ends at where it had started. So you are back at the main entrance once the tour ends. Now, why do I mention this in the very first place? Cause I have reasons.. very good ones.

There is a digital guide available right before starting the tour, but you can do it without the audio guide if you know the books, movies. So no need, as per me.

So once you are inside, there’s the great dining hall with restaurants/ dessert shops/cafes, etc. on one hand, you may start by eating something, maybe. Oh, by the way, come at least an hour before your booking slot, they let you enter.. as you can spend time at the café. Then there is this huge shop on the other hand, where you can buy all magical stuff, you know what I mean? From wand to house robes, from chocolate frogs to quills or some souvenirs for your muggle friends back in this world. Or you can keep this entire shopping till the end, as you will come back to the same place after the tour.

It’s better that you have some food before you start the tour, as in between you will get a break for butterbeer (must try for all, doesn’t matter how it tastes.. and you get to bring the cup home as a souvenir!! Yayyy!!) . There, you will get some popcorn, along with the butterbeer. So, better you fill yourself up.

About the tour now.. oh what do I say, its wondrous, it is something you do want to experience personally. Especially my generation, who has gone through all the madness of Haryy Potter, who has seen the book release, pre ordering of books when online shopping was non-existent in almost all parts of the world, my generation saw the craze of movie release, trying to catch the first day first show (forget of the concept of Netflix or amazon prime.. there were roaming in the some alien world back then).. oh it was like back to those days. Doesn’t matter how old you are.. If the child inside you is always jumping around, you are never too old to experience such creations…

So back from philosophy.. there’s so much in this tour.. the great hall, classrooms, library, forbidden forest, Aragog, the Weasleys’ flying car, enjoying butter beer overlooking the 4 Private drive. You also go inside the house, then there is the bridge of Hogwarts, the night bus, wizard’s chess ground, diagon alley.. how can I forget that.. & and THE Platform 9 ¾ .. there is also another shopping option here on the platform, you may buy some staffs here as you may not get some of them at the main shop when you come back (better have a look at the main shop before you start the tour, so you know what to buy from where).. It’s a long tour.. but you hardly realise when you are done with the tour and how 5 hours have just passed! I loved this tour.. I would love to go back again.. & I do want to go to another WB Harry Potter studio in another city, for sure..

That’s pretty much about the Harry Potter tour.. something I have dreamt of for long, and finally this was made possible.. if you are reading this, I truly hope you get to go to one of the studio tours very soon. That’s all for today, a lot more to share with you.. do come back soon..
