No more introductory words for this post.. I hope you have already gone through the last 2 posts, if not, then you have to read them first to come to this and understand ‘what’s going on here!!”.. otherwise this post won’t make any sense to you.. so jump in..

Kadmath: one of the largest islands of Lakshadweep (for us it was Minicoy, which we visited) and currently closed to tourists. Taj is building its resort, hence the place will soon be open to tourists and hopefully gonna be booming.

Bangaram: Bangaram has a running resort, where per night cost can vary between 18-24k per room with all meals. From Agatti one can take a speed boat to Bangaram. Though the property costs quite a money, the facilities are quite basic as I was told.

Sea Plane: News of Seaplane services will be starting from AUG, hence the place can expect more tourists.

Lakshadweep is currently under the Government’s development plan for tourism. Hence we can expect more accessibility to the place. There is also a plan for all dedicated tourist cruises to be started, but this will take a bit of time. But in the coming years, we can expect some positive development to explore more of the islands.

  • Organised and well planned. The crew of the ship are well trained and always ready to help. The entire package is very thorough and goes as per order. All you have to do is follow the schedule.
  • Still being a little remote, I prefer cruise as the best option to know the islands better for the first time. One reason is you get to see 3 islands at a go, and another would be you really do not have to bother about the connectivity to the other islands. As the same MV Kavaratti ship is the mode of transport between islands. When we would enjoy our day at the islands, the ship has been sailing from one island to the other dropping and picking up more passengers. Hence the ship is constantly on duty.
  • The sailing on the ship is beautiful. Getting to see the sunsets on the ocean or a sunrise.. there’s nothing like it
  • Initially, many of us had some sea sickness as the ship shook while sailing, but eventually, we got habituated and I loved the breezy evenings. Seeing the sky from the deck, a small herd of Albatross sailing along the cruise, flying fishes jumping across the waves, seeing the horizon line contains only blue.. this is magical..
  • Words are quite insufficient to explain my feelings about this trip. It is an experience and I am lucky to be a part of it. It was, understanding what beauty can mean.
  • Though they serve veg (including Jain)-non-veg Indian food, the taste of the food can be a bit of an issue, like less salt, use of tamarind a bit more than usual etc. But if you are someone who doesn’t fuss about a thing.. then ignore this
  • For a family of 3 or any odd number.. the 3rd person has to share another cabin with another co-tourist. Which can be a problem for some. Till the time ‘this’ ship continues to be the only tourist transport for the package along with taking tourists, it will remain like this.
  • But.. a female will share her room with another woman and same for the men. I was called a day before by the tour manager, informing the same. I had requested my room next to my parents, as I could attend to them easily when required, and he did adhere to it.
  • Please carry some cash for your local transaction in Lakshadweep. ATM/ UPI payment/ credit card payments are not that feasible.
  • Local transactions can be, buying drinks, water/ice creams in the beach resorts or paying at the T-shirt factory or for scuba diving/ extra activity at the islands.

I am gonna be very straight and honest here.. there’s no room for drama after all.. no matter what.. GO. FOR. IT. As I said before. it is a one-of-a-kind experience, you must have yours. I only hope that I get to go again.

Come on guys.. I need to hear from you as to what’s your thought? Are you planning to go to Lakshadweep? Tell me that I passed on my travel bugs to you? Leave some comments or if you have any questions please feel free to ask me..
