This trip came all of a sudden. If you follow my blog, then you also may know that I work for the Travel Industry, and this trip to Kenya came as one of those office trips which I will not forget for a very long time. It was an all-organized and sponsored trip by our partner and my office, I was accompanied by 3 other colleagues.. so none of the travel criteria did this trip lived upto.. but still it was a memorable trip.. and surely I should share my experience of whatever little we manage to see in between our work.. the only thing I won’t be able to help you much with is cost bifurcation as I do in my other travel plans.. but will try as much as I can
Kenya Travel || African wildlife || travelling to Africa || Mt Kenya, Kenya || Sponsored Trip|| Why to go to Mt Kenya || Fairmont Mount Kenya||

After Aberdare, we came to Mt Kenya via Ol Pejeta. Of course, you have read about Ol Pejeta by now?? Today’s post will be a small one as there’s nothing much to talk about Mt Kenya but to experience for sure.. so let’s get to the point first.. why Mt Kenya?
So Mt. Kenya is up north from Nairobi, not extreme north but up north from Nairobi.. about 3.5-4 hours from Nairobi city. A lot of people or adventure freaks go to Mount Kenya for trekking, to trek up to the mountain top. But if you are like me, no-way-trekking-is-your-thing type.. then… you should still consider My Kenya..
Firstly the view of Mount Kenya, she is mischievous though.. doesn’t let you have a glimpse of her every now and then.. sunrise and sunsets are the best time to gawk at her.. but the place is to enjoy quiet nature, slightly hilly weather.. evenings get quite cool here.. and this place is to ‘chill’ here in between your game drives for a bit.
Nature is colourfully frivolous here.. the warm mornings, cool evenings, comfortable quietude.. it’s a great place to stop for some time..
Stay:
If I tell you where we stayed at.. you will definitely want to stay here.. there are 2-3 stay options in My Kenya. Among which, Fairmont My Kenya is the best.. the property is spread across 120 acres.. with villas/cottages spread all across the property. There is a 9-hole golf course inside the properties along with other premium facilities like a swimming pool, gym etc.
The line of equator is crossing by the property, & there are suites at both sides of the line!! The property also has its own animal orphanage, where they keep rescued animals here.. they also have 3-4 Bongos, who are almost extinct now in this property. Then you get to see cheetahs, you can also take pictures with them if they are in ‘mood’ (the trainers are there to help you), Lamas, turtles, lions, birds, various species of monkeys etc.. overall this property is everything you can look for. Luxury, thoughtfulness, security, activities, leisure.. everything is here.
Activities:
The Mt Kenya trek takes 2 nights 3 days for professional trekkers, if you want to go for small easy trek experience, you may go for half a day with a picnic lunch.. get close to nature.. then get back to the hotel, lay back within luxury, what else you want on a holiday!!
Food:
Doesn’t need any mention.. there’s a variety of food available and cooked really well. If you are an Indian, prefer vegetarian.. sin problema.. they serve it all along with international cuisine..
Duration:
2 nights minimum is required to experience the place and enjoy the property and some quality time with your family of course..
That’s about it.. nothing much to add as much as I can recall.. next stop was exhilarating.. will be back soon.. Take care..
